I was born in Farmerville, Louisiana. I grew up in Bossier City, Louisiana. I was blessed with a christian mother who was a member of the Lord’s church. I have one sister, Pam Bates, who is also a member of the church. In 1971 I married Debbie Hickox, whom I met at Bennett Street Church of Christ. Debbie and I have two sons, Brent Williams of Columbus, Ohio, and Philip Williams of Shreveport, Louisiana. Both are Christians. I have one granddaughter, Jennifer Williams, in Columbus Ohio. After high school I attended VoTech. My career was in the area of industrial a/c and boilers until retirement. After retiring I worked part time in the same field as a sales associate for five years. My hobbies include deer hunting, shooting, and reloading, avid gardener, and mechanic, especially old Jeeps WW2 vintage.

In keeping with the teachings of the New Testament, we have 3 elders (1 Timothy 3:1-7) who oversee the work at Farmerville church of Christ and work to promote the spiritual growth of its members.
We also have 3 deacons (1 Timothy 3:8-13) who we are blessed with that are great servants who love the Lord and are ready and willing to serve.
Gary Davenport, minister (wife: Terry Jean)
I was born in Louisville, Kentucky but spent most of my life in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I met my wife, Terry, while a student at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. We married on July 2, 1971 and have three children, Tonia, Eric, and Gregory. Terry was born in Waco, Texas and spent most of her early years in Phoenix, Arizona, moving there when she was eight years old. She attended Lubbock Christian College for two years and went one year to David Lipscomb College, before transferring to M.T.S.U., in Murfreesboro,Tennessee, where we met, married and both graduated in 1972.
